COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Alongside Inauguration Day, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, where the former American leader and civil rights activist is remembered, honored, and celebrated every third Monday of January. Attendees will be walking around the hotel Monday at 10 a.m., with an “All Peoples Breakfast” starting the event at 8 a.m. The breakfast is now closed for registration, however, the pride is free and open to the public. Isaac Newton Farris Jr., Dr.
King’s nephew, will be the keynote speaker during the breakfast.

“So, I dedicated my existence to the youth to form sure that any community that we’re in, the people are well represented And not only that, but they take ownership.”
Crutcher started and runs a non-profit community development corporation, soon to be accessible across the nation.
Crutcher Cornerstone Movement focuses on many aspects of growth and change within individuals.
“Dr. King said, anybody can be great,” Crutcher explained. “Anybody can be wonderful, as long as you assist And so, when we created this organization, it was how can we serve?
Martin Luther King Jr. King sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest. He was the driving force behind watershed events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the March on Washingtonwhich helped bring about such landmark legislation as the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. “There was a young man, he was crying,” Crutcher said. “Camp was about to be over with graduation approaching it.

Crutcher told 11 News, that Dr. King’s message was always focused on unity. Crutcher thinks that today, Martin Luther King would continue to push for the people of the nation to come together.
“I’m reminded that he worked with clergy of the Jewish faith, Catholic, Islamic, etc,” Crutcher explained.
“So, just come together, and I ponder that will be the reply to all. I know Dr. King, to me, is a superhero, and I believe he would challenge the community, especially the youth as an individual hero.
